If it isn't right for this space, let me know, and I'll come back and delete.

Just to clarify -- I have done some reading and writing about the Holocaust. Those interested in my interest can learn more by visiting my web page.

http://www.codypublishing.com/goska/goska.html

In any case. You mentioned being "all holocausted out," a wonderful phrase, given the material you had to work with.

You are not Jewish. Some would object to your use of the word "holocaust."

Your thoughts on this issue?D Goskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353495585591945881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-84390508207567953252007-06-02T16:04:00.000-07:002007-06-02T16:04:00.000-07:00John, interesting news story today.A man named Jan...John, interesting news story today.

A man named Jan Grzebski has been in a coma since 1988. His wife Gertruda rotated his body hourly to avoid bedsores, and prayed for him.

He has regained consciousness, to discover that there is no more communism in Poland.

He is amazed to find food in the stores, and people talking on cell phones, "moaning," he says.D Goskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353495585591945881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-74692721637471711972007-06-02T13:40:00.000-07:002007-06-02T13:40:00.000-07:00Danusha, thanks for reading about my parents and t...Danusha, thanks for reading about my parents and thanks too for all you've done for me over the years. You know that it's hard to get people to read your writing and take it seriously. There aren't a lot of people who will do that. You're one. As my dad would say, "You are a very serious person." Thanks for being serious. About Polonia? What can one say? People do what they want to. Read what they want. Maybe all we can do is give them the chance to read something that they otherwise might not read.John Guzlowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13052735138993479204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-79988880903164087392007-06-02T11:05:00.000-07:002007-06-02T11:05:00.000-07:00Hi, John.I'm really grateful for your writing. I do believe that Providence sends us nudges to write about what Providence wants us to write about ... and your job is not finished until you stop getting those nudges.

If I ruled the world, your poetry volumes would be in every school library in America.

And ... I've gotta say it ... Polonia -- Poles in Poland and abroad, including in the US -- owe it to themselves to do everything they can to get your very worthy work in front of as many eyeballs as possible.

But, alas, Polonians do not organize, and do not, for the most part, unite to support each other.

But, I'm a one-woman Polonian promotion committee, and just recently I brought your book "Lightening and Ashes" into a multicultural training at a local university and passed it around, mentioning the reading of such books as an important part of any training in multiculturalism.

All the best to you, John. If there is anything else I can do to help you get your work out there, just ask.D Goskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353495585591945881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-5587060394749841992007-06-02T10:52:00.000-07:002007-06-02T10:52:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.D Goskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09353495585591945881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-87138148928520385122007-05-30T06:45:00.000-07:002007-05-30T06:45:00.000-07:00Matt, thank you.Matt, thank you.John Guzlowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13052735138993479204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-549963549429593969.post-26010375058566548742007-05-29T18:25:00.000-07:002007-05-29T18:25:00.000-07:00Even the story about how you came to write the sto...Even the story about how you came to write the story--which is in essence what the poems are, a story in installments without connecting narrative--is compelling.
